The Columbus Marching Festival consists of both a band's only parade competition in downtown Columbus and a Field Competition sanctioned by the Nebraska State Bandmasters Association at Memorial Stadium at Pawnee Park.

The Parade Review begins at 9:30 a.m. in Downtown Columbus (13th Street and 29th Avenue) and consists only of bands.

The Field Competition begins at 1:00 p.m. at Memorial Stadium and features a full slate of 8 judges.

Division awards will be distributed with those bands scoring over 74.9 receiving a superior plaque, and bands scoring 55.0-74.9 will receive an excellent certificate. Overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place trophies will be presented as well as certificates for Outstanding Marching, Outstanding Music, Outstanding Effect, Outstanding Color Guard, and Outstanding Percussion in Each Class. Trophies will be presented to the overall high scores in each caption, as well as a sweepstakes trophy for the highest overall combined Parade/Field score.
