The 17th annual Farmington Marching
Invitational will be for field competition only at
Farmington High School. Field competition classification
will be structured according to the number of schools
entered and MSHSAA classification in football (Class
1,2,3,4,5,6). The competition
will NOT be in a “prelims/finals” format. Should any
class be too small to “stand alone”, two or more classes
may be combined. Place awards will be presented to ALL
participating bands. Caption awards (music, visual,
percussion, color guard, drum major) will also be
presented for each class.
Classification of bands will not be made public or to
the judges. The schedule will be set-up “scrambled”,
with last year’s class winners competing at the end of
the competition.
Entrants will be evaluated under the judging criteria
from the
Mid-America Marching
Band Consortium System #4. Outstanding Drum Major
awards, one per class, will be scored outside of that
system.
