This is a straight contest (no finals) hosted at
Fort Dodge Senior High School. Each participating
band meets for 90 minutes with clinicians starting
in the mid-morning followed by the festival at 5 PM.
Bands are divided into classes and judged using
protocols defined by the Iowa High School Music
Association. Percussion and auxiliary are judged on
sheets from MACBDA. Trophies are awarded at a
DCI-style full retreat. Awards are given to all
participants at , plus each class winner and a Grand
Champion are recognized. Caption awards include Drum
Majors, Soloist, Brass, Woodwinds, Percussion, and
Auxiliary.
