UCM Festival of Champions
Warrensburg, Missouri
October 18, 2008

The Festival of Champions is a high school band competition that is in its 7th season, continuing the 23 year tradition of excellence established by Music Bowl Missouri. The University of Central Missouri, Meyer Music and the Ararat Shrine Temple of Kansas City host the competition that includes 32 high school bands from across the Mid-West, with up to 7 additional high schools participating in just the Drumline/Auxiliary competitions. The average attendance has been 8,000 consisting of families of the participants, area band enthusiasts and much of the local community. The profits are used to offer scholarships to the University of Central Missouri students, with a portion donated to the Ararat Shrine Temple Hospital Transportation Fund, which is used to fly severely burned children to their hospitals for treatment.

UCM is also hosting a summer music camp and a summer guard camp for those organizations and individuals interested in additional top-flight instruction from UCM faculty and other clinicians.
