This prelim/finals contest is held at Lafayette
High School. In prelims, bands compete in four
classes defined by the number of musicians for
placement and caption awards. The top band from each
class plus the next six highest scoring bands
advance to an open finals competition. In finals,
placement trophies, caption awards, and a Grand
Champion trophy awarded following the contest.
